Get to know new artist Romu!
Romu is a British Bangladeshi rapper from Newham. Romu recently released a song called “Blessaid” with a music video to accompany it.
The ethos is recycling old sounds from Romu’s own heritage – if you hear the beat of the song it uses loops from old Bollywood cassettes that Romu has either been bought or gifted by a family member.
In the music, Romu likes to keep it all very grounded, speaking about their current affairs in life.
This music blends the UK scene with South Asian origins and intertwines both to reveal a serious rapper with a unique edge.
Overall, Romu’s sound is the kind of music that you just listen to simply enjoy the amalgamation of various sounds.
