At Wired4Music, our mission is simple – to create space for young creatives to grow, connect, and thrive in the music industry. This summer, we brought that vision to life through two standout events: the return of Wired Up, and a game-changing Insight Session at Rich Mix.

Both events weren’t just about showing up, they were about showing out. Through panels, performances, jam sessions, and real conversations, young people didn’t just leave inspired — many walked away with exclusive opportunities that could only be accessed by being in the room.

Here’s how it went down:

Wired Up Returns: Community, Collabs, and the Power of Performance

On Friday 27th June, we brought back Wired Up in collaboration with Raw Material — a newly refurbished venue in Brixton that’s championing the next generation of musicians.

This sold-out event was the first in our new season, and we made it count. With a lineup featuring three Wired4Music acts, one Raw Material artist, and an open mic session backed by a live house band, the energy was electric. The night ran from 7PM to 10PM, with a heavy focus on collaboration, freestyling, and community-building.

To encourage connection, we placed networking prompts around the space — questions designed to help artists spark conversation and discover how they could support each other. Everyone got free drinks, real vibes, and access to a musical playground where the mic stayed open and the creativity didn’t stop.

One of the standout moments from the Wired Up event was the chance for attendees aged 15–17 to apply early for The Bridge 2025: a free 4-week summer music programme by Grounded Sounds. From songwriting and studio sessions to industry advice and live performance opportunities, it’s an incredible opportunity for young artists, and spots were only available to those who attended the event before the public deadline.

Insight Sessions: Building a Brand That Stands Out

Earlier in the month, we hosted our latest Insight Sessions at Rich Mix, Shoreditch — this time focusing on something every artist needs to understand: how to build a powerful music brand.

We brought together a panel of pros who’ve done it themselves:

  • Wizdom Layne – Co-director of Sound Connections and seasoned creative leader.

  • Savannah Sims – DJ, creative, and rising name in the festival scene with sets alongside Becky Hill and performances at Glastonbury.

  • Tee Peters – Music artist and Wired4Music’s very own Program Producer, who supports young creatives every week.

Together, they unpacked everything from strategy to visuals, and even offered live Instagram feed reviews, giving attendees real-time feedback they could act on immediately.

More than just talk, this session also unlocked real jobs. Some attendees went on to work with Tee and Wizdom at SXSW and Sofar Sounds! Another reminder that our Insight Sessions aren’t just panels… they’re platforms.

If that sounds like your vibe, don’t miss the next one:

Insight Sessions returns on Wednesday 14 August at Kunstraum, with a performance-based workshop to help you level up your live stage presence.

The Takeaway:

If there’s one thing both of these events proved, it’s this: opportunities don’t just happen, they’re created when you show up.

Whether it was open mics, surprise job opportunities, or exclusive sign-ups, being in the room gave our community access to things the internet can’t always deliver. These aren’t just events, they’re entry points to your next big step.

So next time we open the doors, come through.

You never know what might happen.
