Once again, Urban Development took over Rich Mix with their daylong Industry Takeover event, bringing performances and workshops from the biggest names in the industry.One seminar, chaired by Hattie Collins was entitled Free It Up and looked at Piracy in the music industry. Panel members and guests discussed piracy as well as the pros and cons to giving music away for free. The panel consisted of Alex Boateng (Island Records) Jake Gosling (Producer/The Movement) Sam Potts (Columbia Records) Liam Tootill (Managing Director of SBTV) and a recently signed Mikill Pane.

The day saw performances from Ayah Marar & RussoRASCALS,Incisive, Shakka and Jay Norton. While all of this was happening, you could also find yourself at speed networking sessions, open mics and the marketplace.

At a later panel session, Mikill Pane and XYXX’s Marvyn Harrison discuss the live circuit and how you can get heard on the live circut. The day ended with Music Industry on Trial, a discussion about MC culture.
