Generate 2026: Round 2

Generate is a funding opportunity for young people aged 16–25 living in London and involved in music.

Generate supports young musicians and music professionals to develop their own practice, careers and projects, as well as creating opportunities that have a wider impact on their communities.

For Round 2, there are two types of funding available: the Development Fund and the Community Fund.

Development Fund £300

The Development Fund is for activities that support your own creative, professional or career development.

This could include things like:

• Releasing a single, EP or album
• Creating your first music video
• Developing a music project
• Other activities that help you develop as an artist or music professional

The focus should be on how the activity will help you progress in your own career or creative practice.

Community Fund £1000

The Community Fund is for projects designed to have an impact beyond your own individual development.

Your project should be designed to benefit, engage or create opportunities for a wider community.

This could include:

• Starting a collective
• Creating a live music platform
• A collaborative project with a group of people
• Developing a project that benefits or engages a wider community

The focus should be on what your project creates for the people or community you want to reach, rather than just your own development.

Equipment

Up to 10% of the funding can be used towards equipment purchases.

The majority of the funding should support the activity you are proposing.

Who can apply?

You can apply if you:

• Are aged 16–25
• Currently live in London
• Are involved in music
• Are a Wired4Music member

How to apply

There are two stages to the Generate application process.

1. Expression of Interest

First, complete the short Expression of Interest form.

This will check your eligibility and ask you to tell us what you’re thinking of using the funding for. You don’t need to have everything completely worked out at this stage, but you should have a genuine idea that you’ve started thinking about.

You’ll also need to decide whether your idea is for the Development Fund or Community Fund.

2. Full Application

Once you’ve completed the Expression of Interest and confirmed that you’re eligible, you’ll be able to move straight on to the full Generate application.

The full application will give you the opportunity to develop your idea in more detail, including what you want to achieve and how you intend to use the funding.

The full application appears after you complete the Expression of Interest form. Once you have that link, you can complete the application any time before the deadline. If you lose that link, you can email Tee@sound-connections.org.uk for it to be resent

Important information

Please choose the fund that genuinely reflects the project you intend to deliver.

If you later decide that your project is better suited to the other fund, you’ll need to submit a new Expression of Interest rather than changing your project at the full application stage.

You can only submit one Generate Round 2 application. Any additional attempts to submit another application will be declined.
