Aim of the Job
We are offering a 9-month Trainee Producer contract to work across the three key areas of comedy production – Radio, TV and Online. On Radio you might work with brand new writers and performers on Radio 4 Extra’s Newsjack or any of the long-running Radio 4 shows from News Quiz to Just a Minute. On TV you might work on the likes of Citizen Khan or The Tracey Ullman Show and Online you might work with BBC 3 short form or social media and podcasts. The Trainee will work closely with other producers and will need to demonstrate a real passion for and understanding of comedy. A lot of your time will be spent shadowing and observing and learning from your colleagues with some formal training as part of the contract. You are expected to take responsibility for your own career development and take the initiative in spotting opportunities and making the very best of your time with us. This is a creative role and we are ultimately looking for someone to generate brilliant comic ideas and who can turn their vision into reality.
