The Foundation at D&AD exists to to inspire the next generation of creative talent and promote diversity within the design, advertising and creative digital industries.
Currently, over three quarters (78%) of employees across the commercial creative industries are educated to degree level, however constantly rising university fees and dramatic funding cuts in FE means that this traditional route in to the industry isn’t an option for all. This results in a disconnect between talented young people and those able to secure creative roles.
D&AD are collaborating with the commercial creative industry to create an alternative way to find, support and employ creative excellence so that anyone with the talent can succeed.
Introducing D&AD New Blood Shift.
15 x 18-26 year olds who haven’t completed a degree will take part in a free 12-week London based night school programme, teaching them all they need to know about the role of a creative in advertising, followed by on-going mentoring and the opportunity of paid placements.
For 50 applicants there will also be the opportunity to exhibit their creative work in London and receive advice and mentoring from London’s top creatives.
