Headway East London is a medium-sized organisation based in Hackney, covering a large part of London (13 boroughs). That’s the first of our challenges – a wide and disparate community of supporters. Secondly, brain injury, though it affects many people, is still something of a hidden problem (you can read about it here). The good news is that we have an amazing community – a team of staff, service users (members) and volunteers that’s buzzing with creative energy. We’re also committed to putting our members at the forefront of our communications and fundraising; drawing on their inspiration to fuel our messaging and campaigns.
We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about helping us reach new audiences and supporters. You’ll work as part of a small, friendly team and spend time getting to know our fascinating membership of brain injury survivors. A typical day may include putting together a blog post with one of our members, setting up for a key fundraising event or helping to build our supporter database. You’ll be in close contact with management, and will have the opportunity to contribute ideas to our existing strategy.
