The Barbican is Europe’s largest multi-arts and conference venue presenting a diverse range of art, music, theatre, dance, film and education events. The Theatre department presents an ambitious programme that crosses art forms, with outstanding artists and performers. We excel at projects that hover on the edge of classification. We showcase international theatre, dance and performance by leading companies’ and emerging artists that challenge the idea of what theatre can be.
We are looking for an Assistant Producer to join the team, providing administrative support to the Head of Theatre and Producers in delivering national and international projects that take place within the Barbican Theatres and other offsite locations. The role will also take management responsibility for certain delegated productions and projects.
The successful applicant will have proven experience in a theatre or dance environment, along with some experience of arts marketing. With your excellent communication skills, you will be able to build effective relationships with internal and external customers, and ideally you will have previous experience of managing staff.
Whilst not essential, it would be advantageous if you have experience of managing events, diary management and knowledge of visas and sponsorship regulations.
A good working knowledge of IT packages (word, excel) is essential.
