Description
The Artist Manager is part of a team responsible for several internationally respected artists within the singers’ team. Our more established artists have specialised and detailed needs while our clients beginning their careers require development, planning and nurturing. Artist Managers are frequently required to attend their artists’ performances in the evening or over weekends, and often outside of the UK.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in proactively growing the number of artists you and the company manages
- Quickly developing strong relationships with clients and promoters
- Seek out the right opportunities for our clients
- Advising artists on career development and repertoire choices
- Negotiating fees and contracts
- Represent the company at conferences and on committees and be a strong advocate for the company
- Servicing bookings and ensuring all travel and practical arrangements are made
Person specification
a) Essential competencies
- Highly experienced Artist Manager
- Extensive understanding of opera and classical music
- Track record of sourcing and nurturing talent
- Evidence of advising artists on their career development
- Combine the ability to work well in a team and independently
- Highly motivated
- Remains calm under pressure
- Prioritise and multi-task
- Excellent computer skills and a good knowledge of databases
b) Desirable competencies
- Foreign language skills are an advantage
