Attitude is Everything are preparing to release our State of Access Report in late 2013, assessing the accessibility of the live music industry by analysing 2 years’ worth of Mystery Shopping data from over 200 venues and festival reports from across the UK.
We intend to use the feedback from Deaf and disabled music fans to identify industry trends, discuss some of the barriers that Deaf and disabled customers are experiencing, and make recommendations to the music industry to help them remove these barriers.
The last State of Access Report was launched in November 2011 by Matthew Hancock MP at the House of Commons, before its findings weredebated in Parliament by Ministers including Ed Vaizey MP. This is a unique opportunity for someone to get involved in an interesting project that can effect positive change on the accessibility of live music events.
We are looking for a Research Intern to assist with the analysis of the Mystery Shopping reports, extracting data to collate statistics, charts and trends as well as gathering anecdotal quotes and evidence to back up our findings. The Intern will also provide support in writing up the findings and will be fully credited as an author on the final document.
In keeping with Arts Council guidelines we are offering an hourly rate paying the national minimum wage and looking for someone to work 1 day per week for 2 months starting in July. This role would suit an Undergraduate or recent Graduate with research and analysis skills, who has proficient IT skills, especially utilising Microsoft Office software.
