We’re looking for organisations to partner with us on STEP – a year-long shared training and employment programme co-designed with industry partners Bow Arts, Sadler’s Wells and UAL London College of Fashion, and delivered via the Good Growth Hub.
STEP’s mission is to build collaboration between talented young east Londoners and creative, cultural and tech businesses – creating journeys towards inclusive growth and enabling access to careers. Our vision is not only for increased representation in the sectors but for more sustainable career progression. STEP connects young people aged 18-30 in the London Boroughs of Newham, Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest with employers on their doorstep.
We’re looking for employers who are interested in developing a meaningful entry-level training role within their business, and who are committed to achieving change, increasing representation, and paying the London Living Wage. Employers will be supported by the Good Growth Hub to develop their training placement and will receive advice and guidance on creating inclusive cultures and good working practices. Employers will join a network of line managers and senior leaders – sharing learning and supporting each other on their journey towards inclusive growth within their business. The Good Growth Hub will also facilitate local outreach and create a shared talent pool for recruitment.
Through STEP, trainees are paid London Living Wage over a 12-month training programme to develop a diverse range of skills and creative approaches, building their network across organisations and departments. Trainees grow as part of a peer network, take part in monthly professional development workshops, and are given space, time, and investment to produce a collaborative project. Trainees are also connected with a specialist industry mentor, take part in careers coaching, and continue as part of a community after the programme.
