The Ivors Academy is delighted to introduce In The Room, a new leadership programme for young songwriters and composers which aims to help a diverse group of young songwriters and composers become the future leaders of the music industry.

Funded by Youth Music, and supported by Help Musicians, In The Room will give six music creators the chance to develop their leadership skills, build their networks while preparing them for music industry boards. It will also allow young creators to raise issues that matter to them, giving them the chance to explore these through paid research projects.

The paid programme will last for eight months under the leadership and mentorship of under-25 Academy Board Directors, Hope Winter and Imogen Williams.

  • Part-time, 8 month scheme with post-programme support
  • For under 25 songwriters and composers based in the UK
  • Paid project work to raise the voices of young creators
  • Remote work with travel & accommodation bursaries provided for events
  • Applications encouraged from music creators belonging to underrepresented groups and from those who have experienced barriers to access the music industry.
  • Deadline extended to 5th April at 12pm.
