Interested in organising events?
We are looking for a diverse group of people with different backgrounds, disciplines and levels of experience to join our Young Producers programme. You may already have an idea you’d like to realise, or you might just want to learn more about what is involved in running your own event.
This programme is an opportunity to organise and curate part of Battersea Arts Centre’s annualHomegrown Festival – a celebration of work by young artists, performers and producers.
You will gain an introduction to producing through masterclasses in scheduling, budgeting, marketing, project management and artist liaison and learn from Battersea Arts Centre producers and arts professionals that run a range of events – from massive club nights to cabaret socials and independent festivals.
As a Young Producer, you will be given a brief, a budget and support to deliver your own projects within the Homegrown Festival.
You don’t need any previous knowledge of producing. We are interested in anyone with new ideas and creative interests – whether it’s in theatre, music, film, dance, street art, installations, spoken word, comedy or technology. This is an opportunity to bring out-of-the-box ideas to Battersea Arts Centre, from DJ nights to experimental performances and live debates.
Past Young Producers have included beatboxers, art students, sixth-formers, fashion designers, hairdressers and emerging theatre producers. Several have gone on to produce their own shows professionally, work at Battersea Arts Centre and even start their own events and production companies.
