Who are the 696 Promoters?

The 696 Promoters are a group of young people aged 16 – 25 who are passionate about producing live music events. For 10 weeks participants will work with music industry experts to produce a high-quality event and put their stamp on the exciting 696 Festival.

The 696 Festival will celebrate music genres at the cutting edge of south London’s music scene: the best new Afrobeat, Grime, Rap, Jazz, R&B, Reggae and Soul music.

Why should you apply?

If you love music and are interested in a career in events or the wider music industry, then this is the course for you. It is an opportunity to develop your ideas and be supported in the process of turning them into a live event.

At the same time you will receive 1:1 mentoring, helping you to develop professional skills relevant to the music events industry and wider jobs market.

  • Have fun and gain confidence

Who can apply?

Application is open to all people aged 16 – 25.

We welcome applications from people with all levels of experience. If you are interested in participating, but not confident in your skills, this is a chance to gain experience in a supportive and fun environment.

We will prioritise 70% of spaces for applicants who are not currently in employment, education or training. Speak to your Jobcentre Plus work coach or contact Rudi via for application support.

Key dates

The 696 Promoter programme will run on Thursday evenings, 5.30pm – 7.30pm, from 10 June – 19 August 2021.

Participation is free, with refreshments and travel included.
