Our parent organisation Sound Connections works very hard to bring high quality music opportunities to young people across London.
We’ve done research into music programmes across London, looking into the areas that are getting the most service and which ones are missing out. They have found five particular areas that are lacking opportunities for young music-minded people. They are:
– Haringey (Tottenham) and Enfield (Edmonton)
– Barking & Dagenham
– Croydon bordering Bromley
– Ealing (Southall and Hanwell) with additional spots in Hounslow and Hillingdon
– South Brent and North Hammersmith
You can download the study here if you would like to see how your area is doing.
In response to this need, Sound Connections has launched theirĀ Innovate programme, developing new music projects for disadvantaged young people across London.
So what do you think? Do you live in one of these areas? If so, does this research match up with your experience?
We always want to know what you think. If you have any thoughts, questions or comments about this research please don’t hesitate to email or tweet us!
