The Barbican provides talent development opportunities that give 14 to 25 year olds the skills and confidence needed to progress in today’s creative industries and is currently offering two really exciting Young Creatives programmes.

Young Songwriters:

The Young Songwriters is a programme that will get you exploring new sounds, instruments, genres and approaches to writing music. We’d love to work with you whatever you put together, be it Grime, EDM, Jazz, Folk, Classical or something completely different. You will develop the way you write and make your music and how to communicate the intricacies of a song to those who play it.

The autumn term will consist of six, three hour sessions where you will work with Scott Stroman and other London based musicians getting to know your band and working together to find your sound. In the spring term you will reunite for another six sessions with Scott but will also be working with members of the the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JLCO). During the programme you will get free tickets to Barbican Jazz concerts, including London Jazz festival and our Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra concerts.
