ArtsTrain are commissioning two young artists (aged 16-25)  to create new material in any genre, in response to ‘Gentrification’ and how it’s impacting the communities we live in. Successful applicants will receive £500 worth of support to make your project happen!

We encourage applications from a range of genres and will accept applications from a range of different artistic disciplines:

–       Songwriters

–       Composers

–       MC’s

–       Spoken Word Artists

Successful applicants will receive £300 to contribute to either; getting their material filmed professionally OR a professional recording session with an acclaimed music producer. You will also receive an additional £200 which is flexible and can be used to contribute to the development with your work. That’s a total of £500 to support you’re work!

Recording will be supported by producer Damien Cooke 

Not only will you receive professional content for your own portfolio, your work will also feature on the launch of ArtsTrain’s new online gallery space which will go live in late September 2018!

The brief

Create an original piece (or pieces) of music or spoken word that is at least 2 minutes in duration, to be recorded and/or filmed. The piece can be any genre – don’t feel restricted – but should respond to the theme below.

To apply, please email ArtsTrain at artstrain@mytimeactive.co.uk with a proposal for your work by Thurs 23 August.

Your proposals must detail:

–       Your chosen art form

–       Ideas on how you intend to present your work

–       Whether you intend to film and/or record

–       Your motivation to create material around ‘Gentrification.’

–        A link to examples of your existing work

 

Successful applicants will be informed by 30 August 2018, and public announcements will be made the following week.

Applicants must be available for an initial meeting, one evening in the week commencing 3rd Sept (to be arranged).
