You asked for more networking and we listened. On the 12th of July, we partnered up with the GLA peer outreach team at City Hall’s London Living Room to hold a music networking event with special guest speakers including Music Technologist Gawain Hewitt and DJ & radio producer Nikita Chauhan.

The event saw over 50 emerging musicians, producers, promoters and more celebrate what’s great about London’s music scene, and to challenge what’s not. The topics of conversation during networking ranged from favourite gigs to opportunities for women in the music industry, with people forging relationships to make and create new work.

The GLA team facilitated a whole group discussion on hopes for the Mayor which prompted some impassioned ideas from our guests, and catering, provided by a young member of the Peer Outreach Team, had everyone licking their lips as they tucked into Korean chicken and plantain sliders.

After the popularity of this event and feedback from people in attendance, we’ll be holding an extra special drop-in in September, so watch this space!

Wired4Music opportunities are available for 16-25 year olds living in London.
