Wired4Music council members and funders from RBS met on Thursday 17th July at RBS Headquarters to discuss the INVESTEMENT strand of our Manifesto Campaign.

We spoke about how much investment can change the lives of young people who are interested in making music. Without money nowadays, there isn’t much to do and young people would result to being on the streets rather than pursuing their dreams of becoming the talented musicians that they can be.

I felt that the meeting went really well, Nick Howe a Regional Enterprise Manager for NatWest Business Banking was really inspired by what Wired4Music members and Young People were doing to get investment so that our ideas could come to life. Nick pledged a mobile business advice session that would visit areas across London and offer advice to young people about funding to inspire others.

We will be having our next council meeting in October to discuss our next stage in our Manifesto, PROGRESSION. Leading up to this we will be following up on pledges that were made such as Nick Howe’s and seeing what he has done to help young people invest in their ideas. As well as that, we will be checking up on our Leadership Programme which was supported and funded by RBS Inspiring Youth Enterprise, which was designed to give young people the support and funding to bring their musical ideas to life!
